Every Friday is Wisdom Friday.  It’s just a way for me to share with my readers the little gems of life that I’ve learned either during the week or living life in general.

I used to pride myself in being able to multi-task.  Back then, I didn’t use to measure the outcome as I would today, but if I did, I think I would find that multi-tasking actually hurt (rather than helped) my performance.  Truth is, our brain has evolved to handle one task at a time.  If you don’t believe me, try this experiment on yourself:  Explain to a friend what one would see as one walks into your abode from the front door.  As you explain, pay attention to the way you are visualizing your place.  I bet you thought of your place in chunks, not all at once!  Truth is, you can’t visualize your entire place all at once even if you wanted to!

And since this is the beginning of a new year, many people are setting goals for themselves (myself included).  Rather than trying to accomplish all the goals all at once, I think it will serve us all better if we concentrate on one goal at a time.

Happy New Year to all, and here’s to a new beginning!
